Sun Yoga
The Seven Core Principles

Sun Yoga is a global not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating a more peaceful and fairer world through yoga. Founded in 2001 by Jacqueline Koay, Sun Yoga grew from small classes taught out of Friendship House in Southsea, Hampshire (Jacqueline’s hometown) into a family of over 450 teachers worldwide.

Profits from Sun Yoga have been channeled into supporting projects benefiting children and the needy globally, eschewing its Founder’s vision of creating a better world through yoga.

Sun Yoga’s Teacher Training Programs:
Sun Yoga is a Yoga Alliance USA Registered School

Registered Yoga Teacher at 200 Hours (RYT200)
Beginning with the Foundation modules, students will then progress to take modules on Hatha, Kundalini, Contemporary and Children’s Yoga. This modular program ensures that students are provided with a strong foundation (Techniques, Anatomy, Physiology, Philosophy, Ethics, Lifestyle and Teaching Methodology) as well as exposure to other key schools of yoga. Hands-on Practicum (assisting and teaching as trainee teachers) will ensure that the skills required to make a good and competent yoga teacher are finely honed.

Yoga Therapy (RYT500)
For students who have already achieved the basic 200 Hours qualification, this course is both heavily academic and hands-on. As a student, you will study the Foundation modules consisting of Yoga & Medical Science, Anatomy, Physiology and Ayurveda before undertaking the two main branches of Yoga Therapy, namely the Children’s Yoga Therapy and Adults Yoga Therapy modules. You will also be working (under supervision) with real clients to give you the experience and exposure of working as a Yoga Therapist.
